There are many different methods and approaches to therapy. You can review the different approaches at www.itsgoodtotalk.org.uk. My main training was in Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling at Middlesex University and in Person Centred Counselling at the University of East Anglia (UEA). I continue to undertake professional development and training in new and different approaches to counselling and psychotherapy in line with the requirements of the professional bodies – the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy ( BACP).
My approach to counselling is based on relationships – how people think, feel and behave in relation to other people in their lives as well as how they see themselves in the world in relation to their beliefs, values and their environment. Mostly the work involves conversations and questions that I hope help people to better understand what is going on for them.
I offer counselling to individuals as well as to couples who want to attend counselling together to explore issues in their relationship with each other.
