Seeking help with mental health issues can feel more difficult than for physical health issues – going to A & E if you have broken your leg or making an appointment with the GP to check out a persistent stomach pain. Both are, of course, painful. But if its a mental health issue then it might feel like there is an extra, even more painful dimension involved. Why should this be so?
MIND, the leading mental health charity, believe that there remains much stigma and discrimination around mental health issues which they are campaigning to change.

MIND acknowledges that attitudes towards mental health are changing – see their initiative Time to Change which has had almost 80,000 people pledge to end the stigma of poor mental health.
